Meet Our Coaches

 

Row Georgia Head Coach - Chris Lambert

Coach Lambert overseas all programs at Row Georgia, and coaches the Competitive Youth Varsity and Adult/Masters.

Prior to Row Georgia, Coach Lambert coached full time at Georgetown University Rowing, Varsity Men, 2019 - 2023, while also facilitating collegiate recruiting.

He coached youth rowing at Conestoga Rowing in Pennsylvania and U23 at nearby Conshohocken.

As a collegiate rower at the The Florida Institute of Technology, (FIT), he medaled in the varsity 8+ at Dad Vail.

He was selected for the US Nationals Team THREE TIMES, and competed internationally in the World Rowing Championship:

  • 2007 Scotland, U23 Lightweight quad
  • 2011 Slovenia, Senior Lightweight quad
  • 2015 France, Bronze medal, Mens lightweight 8+

Coach Lambert is US Rowing Level 2 Coaching Certified.

Youth Novice Competitive - McBeth Coaching

Not only are Coaches Beth Parker and McKinley Harris a coaching team, they're also Masters Competitive Rowers!

McBeth Coaching is responsible for the development of our Youth Novice Competitive Rowers. Novice rowers are defined as any rower with less than one year of experience.

Each possesses the following US Rowing Certifications:

  • Coaching Level 2
  • Adaptive Coaching
  • Masters Coaching

Youth Competitive, Assistant Coach- Jason Garrett

Coach Jason is responsible for developing and coaching competitive youth athletes.

He rowed all four years at Vanderbilt University, 2018 - 2022, and served as Vice President. He medaled several times, including winning Head of the Charles Men's Collegiate Fours in 2021, SIRA gold, ACRA 4th, HOCH Gold, MCHR Gold, and more.

Coach Jason continues competing, rowing on the Vandy alumni team. He and his crew placed 3rd at the Head of the Charles in 2023 and is currently training for the 2024 HOCR.

Coach Jason is US Rowing Level 1 Coaching Certified.

Youth Rec - Coach Russ Stott

Row Georgia offers Youth Rec rowing 2 days each week during Fall and Spring Seasons.

While teaching rowing in a non-competitive environment, Coach Russ focuses on safety and fun.

He first began rowing in college at SUNY University and now is a Competitive Masters Rower at Row Georgia, (and has the hardware to prove it). He provides an introductory rowing for youth, ages 12-18, middle and high school students.One of his many talents is that he makes all things fun while simultaneously helping the kids grow in the sport.

Our Rec program provides the opportunity for more kids to experience the benefits of rowing, twice a week.

Land Fitness - Coach Lupe Macias Amoson

Strength and conditioning are critical in rowing. Proper land training is a major compenent to reaching the fullest potential for each athlete.

Coach Lupe facilitates athlete conditioning and strength training on land, focusing on core and overall fitness.

As a former youth rower in the Atlanta area, Coach Lupe brings experience and the know-how to help athletes become their best!

Learn-to-Row Camps - Coach Savannah and Coach Jocalyn

Coaches Savannah and Jocalyn both rowed at Row Georgia in high school, and both are D1 athletes and students at Stetson University.

Coach Savannah was a Row Georgia 2023 Summer Camp and Winter Coach, and she returns for 2024! This fall she'll be a Junior at Stetson.

Jocalyn is a Senior and Captain of the Stetson Women's Rowing Team.
