Detailed instructions below.

Before You Begin Registration

If you cannot swim, do not proceed with registration. A mandatory swim test is required for all youth and adult rowers. All participants must be able to swim.

Already Completed a Row Georgia Swim Test?

If you have previously completed a Row Georgia Swim Test, no additional action is required unless (1) your ability to swim has changed, or (2) Row Georgia requires you to complete a new swim test.

Haven’t Completed a Row Georgia Swim Test?

Swim test dates, times, and instructions will be communicated through your Boathouse Connect account (see Step 3). We will offer one or two RGA-facilitated swim tests. If unable to complete the swim tests on one of the dates we provide, participation will be suspended until swim test requirements are met. Please wear shorts, a T-shirt, and/or a swimsuit.

The Actual Swim Test Components

Participants must complete all 3 components without touching the pool wall or bottom at any time.

  1. Swim 100 continuous yards without stopping or assistance. Any swim stroke may be used.

  2. Tread water for 5 continuous minutes.

  3. While continuing to tread water, properly put on and buckle a life jacket that is tossed to you and then safely exit the pool.

You’ll receive your swim test results immediately. If the test was conducted during a regular practice time with passing results, proceed to the lake, where coaches will be waiting.

Step 1 – Registration Payment

Complete your season registration using the designated Row Georgia Registration Payment link for the current season. Make sure to read program descriptions, and email recruiting@rowgeorgia.com with any questions.

Step 2 – USRowing Membership

USRowing requires an annual membership for all participants, coaches, and designated volunteers. Returning participants should verify that their membership remains active throughout the season. We recommend enabling Auto-Renew to avoid an interruption in eligibility.

New Membership

  1. Visit: ➡️ USRowing Membershipusrowing.org

  2. Select Individuals → Register.

  3. Enter the rower’s information.

  4. In the Club or Team Name field, search for and select Row Georgia.

  5. When the 'Roster is Locked' message appears, enter Club Code: J43ZV

  6. Complete your membership.

  7. Save your Membership Number. You will need it for your Boathouse Connect profile.

Returning Participants

Boathouse Connect automatically synchronizes with USRowing. If your membership is current and linked with Row Georgia using the Club Code above, no additional USRowing membership action is required. Participants are responsible for maintaining an active USRowing membership throughout the season. Expired memberships, or memberships not properly linked with RGA, will result in immediate participant ineligibilityQuestions regarding USRowing membership should be directed to: coachkate@rowgeorgia.com

Step 3 – Boathouse Connect & Mandatory E-Sign Documents

Boathouse Connect (BC) is Row Georgia's official communication and rower profile platform. If there are medical conditions or allergies the coaches should be aware of, those must be entered where indicated in the rower’s BC profile. Boathouse Connect reconciles with USRowing and USCenter for SafeSport, our governing organizations, providing real-time electronic updates of roster eligibility.

Who is required to have a Boathouse Connect Profile?

A profile is required for:

  • Every youth seasonal participant (not summer campers)

  • Every adult seasonal or annual participant

  • Competitive tryout participants

  • At least one parent/legal guardian of every youth participant (to sign mandatory docs related to minors)

Communication

Official Row Georgia communications are sent to the email addresses and mobile phone numbers listed in the participant's profile. At least one parent is required to be listed as a contact inside a youth rower’s profile. You must provide both an email and a phone number for each additional contact. Additional Contacts receive the same communication as the rower.

Profile: After completing your registration payment, create your BC profile. Returning participants are responsible for reviewing and updating their profile each season. Important: Access Boathouse Connect using a web browserNOT the mobile app

Mandatory E-Sign Documents: Within 3 business days of completing Step 3 (Boathouse Connect (BC)) - your profile will be added to the applicable group, which means your profile will be assigned mandatory registration documents that require your review and e-signature.

Adding Additional Contacts

Using boathouseconnect.com (via a web browser, NOT the app):

  1. Log into the participant's profile.

  2. Select My Profile from the left menu.

  3. Select My Profile again.

  4. Open the Contacts tab.

  5. Select Add Additional Contact.

  6. Enter the desired email address(es) and mobile phone number(s).

Step 4 – Lake McIntosh Parking Pass

Fayette County Vehicles

If the vehicle you will use has a Fayette County license plate, no action is required.

Out-of-County Vehicles

Vehicles with out-of-county license plates must obtain an annual parking pass to avoid parking citations.

Fayette County residents are assessed taxes that help fund and provide access to Lake McIntosh Park. Non-Fayette County residents are permitted access to the park with an annual parking pass. If a car is parked, left unattended, or it does not have the current pass, it will likely receive a citation. However, Row Georgia participants who provide proof of payment for the current Row Georgia season to the county office listed below are eligible to purchase an annual parking pass for $50 (instead of the regular annual fee of $300). Parking passes expire annually on December 31

The pass must be picked up in person at:

Fayette County Parks & Recreation
140 W. Stonewall Avenue, Suite 208
Fayetteville, GA 30214

Step 5 – Preparticipation Medical Eligibility Form - Youth Only, GHSA Form

This requirement does not apply to adult participants. Adult participants can proceed to Step 6. Required for all youth participants each season, including both new and returning participants. A preparticipation sports physical remains valid for 12 months. If the physical was completed within the previous 12 months and remains valid throughout the season, you may upload the same form.

Many Urgent Cares provide same-day and walk-in Preparticipation Sports Physicals. Some offices will print the form from GHSA here.

Detailed instructions for completing and uploading the form are available here:

➡️ LINK: Physical Form Upload Instructions on rowgeorgia.com

When uploading your completed form:

  • Upload only the one required page, titled 'Medical Eligibility Form'. Do not upload all the pages.

  • Follow the example provided in the instructions in the link above.

  • Ensure all required fields on that page have been completed, such as the date, the youth’s name, date of birth, and that the medical provider has signed and completed the page.

Step 6 – SafeSport Training

Row Georgia requires SafeSport training for all youth rowers, as well as coaches and volunteers with regular youth contact.

For youth rowers, it’s a one-and-done until the youth reaches 18, at which point the adult training is mandatory.

This mandatory requirement is a free online training, and it must be completed from THE PARTICIPANT’S USROWING profile (i.e., do not complete it anywhere other than from inside the USRowing profile, as the completion will not be captured). Click below for detailed instructions to complete the training and to upload the final page.

Step 7 – Final Registration Review

Review each step to confirm that all registration requirements have been completed.

Registration must be completed in full before a participant will be considered for roster eligibility. If you have questions or need assistance during registration, contact: rowgeorgia@rowgeorgia.com or 770-527-6088 (call or text).
