Competitive Youth

Competitive Youth (Grades 9–12)

Train. Compete. Excel.

No rowing experience is required. New athletes are welcomed each season through Competitive Tryouts.

Row Georgia's Competitive Program is designed for student-athletes who are ready to pursue excellence in one of the world's most demanding team sports.

Whether your goal is to become faster, compete at regattas, pursue collegiate rowing opportunities, or simply challenge yourself alongside highly motivated teammates, our coaching staff provides a structured, high-performance training environment focused on continual improvement.

Green Team (5 Days Per Week)
The Green Team provides a competitive training environment for athletes committed to developing technique, fitness, and racing experience. Athletes train five days per week while competing at local and regional regattas and preparing for continued growth within the program.

Gold Team (6 Days Per Week)
The Gold Team is Row Georgia's highest training commitment, designed for athletes prepared to train at an elite level. Athletes practice six days per week, competing in a high-performance environment with additional training volume for those pursuing the highest levels of competition.

Commitment

Competitive rowing requires consistent attendance, coachability, discipline, and a commitment to team success. Every athlete contributes to the success of the entire crew.

Recommended for: Students entering grades 9–12 who are ready to challenge themselves in a competitive athletic environment.

Recreational & Development

Recreational & Development (REC / DEV)

Learn. Improve. Enjoy the Sport.

Our Recreational and Development programs provide an opportunity to experience rowing in a fun, structured coaching environment without the demands of full competitive racing.

Both programs practice together with the same coaching staff and teammates.

Participants choose the schedule that best fits their goals:

  • Recreational: Two days per week
  • Development: Three days per week, including an additional Thursday development practice

Recreational

Ideal for students who want to learn rowing, stay active, enjoy being on the water, and participate in a supportive team environment.

Development

Designed primarily for middle school athletes who want additional coaching and practice time as they prepare for future Competitive Team opportunities.

Many athletes begin directly in the Competitive Program through Tryouts. Students entering 9th grade and above who are interested in competitive rowing are encouraged to register for Competitive Tryouts.

Recommended for: Students middle school students who want to learn or continue enjoying rowing.


Masters

Masters Rowing

Fitness. Community. Lifelong Rowing.

Masters Rowing is designed for adults who enjoy being on the water while improving fitness, technique, and overall wellness.

Whether you're returning to rowing after many years or currently row regularly, our coached sessions provide a welcoming environment where adults continue developing their skills together.

Monday, Wednesday, Saturday

6:30 AM – 8:00 AM

Participants must already be able to row a single shell. If you're new to rowing, we recommend beginning with one of our Learn to Row sessions or scheduling a private lesson.

Recommended for: Adults ages 18+ who enjoy rowing and staying active.
