Mandatory Swim Test
Reminder: There is no official RGA group chat. Most folks are busy and have established they prefer a structure to keep communication protected as applicable to them as possible, helping their inboxes remain clutter free. This is especially relevant now as RGA has grown, and is serving multiple and growing programs for youth and adults, where every communication does not apply to all programs any longer. Questions? You have a direct line to your program's coaches and other contacts, here.
ATHLETES PARTICIPATING IN THIS SATURDAY'S SCRIMMAGE EVENT: RGA Coaches participated in a zoom Monday evening for final details. Coaches are constantly seeking new opportunities and relationships with other programs. This Saturday's MS scrimmage is a result of those efforts and is a first for the program. While we typically email a "Regatta Primer" sooner, (document with lineups and event details), coaches have been awaiting hosting program's final confirmations. For this event, a Regatta Primer will go out no later than Tue evening 3/10/26.

Mandatory Swim Test - Go to the swim test first, (it doesn't take but a few minutes), and then go immediately to the lake.
If you’ve already completed a Row Georgia swim test, you are swim compliant and this test does not apply to you. The swim test is a one-and-done requirement unless you have a change that would affect your ability to swim.
If you have NOT completed a Row Georgia swim test, this test is for you. Only those rowers registered for the current Spring 2026 roster (competitive, dev, or rec) may attend. This is mandatory to maintain roster eligibility and for those rostered to participate in this Saturday's race. Again, this applies to those who have NOT yet completed the swim test.
Who: ALL current RGA rowers (all programs) who have NOT completed and passed the swim test. Swim compliance is mandatory. If you are rostered for this weekend's race, it's mandatory to complete this test.
When: FRIDAY, March 13, 2026, 4:45pm. Attend the swim test, then immediately go practice at the lake.
Where: Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center 202 Kedron Drive Peachtree City, GA
What to bring: $10 cash paid to Kedron Fieldhouse
What to Wear: Shorts and a t-shirt and/or a swimsuit.
What does a swim test look like? All three components detailed below must be passed. Touching the pool floor or the wall is not authorized during any part of the swim test.
- Swim 100 yards without stopping or touching the walls or bottom, no breaks, and there is no specific stroke required.
- Tread water for 5 minutes.
- At the end of the 5 minutes of treading water, a life vest will be tossed to the participant. He/she must properly put on the life jacket and buckle it while treading, and then exit the pool.
You'll receive results immediately.
